2023 Annual Selection
They are arriving at Le Groupe Ouest!

And the shift of our world is their raw material. They are eleven writers / directors, eight projects selected from 250 candidates.
Some are embracing the genre film, others are inventing new intimate spaces in-between fiction and documentary, shaking the codes of the animated film, or auscultating the disappearance of the sacred. Another one is escaping from the jails of a dictatorship, or is encouraging us to love each other differently. Some are observing the past to question our present, and another one is taking us elsewhere, at the end of the beach…
In full wind on the beaches of Plouneour-Brignogan (Brittany), lit by the faithful script-consultants / midwives of Le Groupe Ouest — Lucile Hadzihalilovic, Leyla Bouzid and Delphine Gleize — around Quebec screenwriter Marcel Beaulieu, they arrived this week and will be accompanied until December 2023, with four one-week sessions in-residence in Finistère, deliveries of texts every month, sessions of «Tell me» in the corner of fire, but also in front of the inhabitants of the surrounding villages.
They will work with each other, mutually reinforcing, to make their stories assert themselves, their worlds strengthen, and their films, as unique as they are, become fully capable of addressing humans.
