Belle-Île

Élie Grappe
cowritten with Victor Jestin

After his first film noticed at the Cannes Critics’ Week in 2021, “Olga”, writer-director Élie Grappe came to Le Groupe Ouest as part of its Annual Selection, accompanied by novelist and screenwriter Victor Jestin, to develop his second feature film, “Belle-Île”.

Synopsis

An afternoon in August 1934, fifty-six boys escaped from the penal colony for minors of Belle-Île-en-Mer. They disperse on the island. The colony offers twenty francs to anyone who brings a fugitive. Locals, fishermen, tourists, everyone joins the hunt…
“Belle-Île” is a fiction feature film, inspired by the real fact.
