Tommy Baron
Tommy Baron grew up in a small village not far from Cahors. At age 13, he began making his first short films on his own, based on video games (known as “machinimas”), and went on to work as an editor for YouTubers. Self-taught, he worked as a camera assistant, in special effects, and on independent productions before joining the screenwriting program at CinéFabrique in 2017. He directed his graduation film, “Vingt Hivers,” in South Korea. As an assistant director in several countries, he also regularly co-writes screenplays and coordinates the writing residencies at Gindou Cinéma (La Ruche and the Occitanie feature film residency).
His third short film, “Curiosity on Planet Mars,” shot in Seoul with a very small crew, premiered at the 2026 Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Original Score.
