L’ENGLOUTIE by Louise Hémon, written at Groupe Ouest, screening in Lesneven!

Groupe Ouest invites you to attend the screening of the film L’ENGLOUTIE by writer-director Louise Hémon on Wednesday, January 28 at 8:15 p.m. at the Even cinema.
The film’s co-writer Anaïs Tellenne will be present to talk with the audience after the screening.

L’ENGLOUTIE takes place in 1899, in the heart of the most remote mountains of the Hautes-Alpes. A young Republican schoolteacher moves to a hamlet where beliefs from another age still reign. An increasingly harsh natural environment, as well as an unexpected awakening to sensuality, threaten to engulf the heroine in desire and avalanches.

Nominated for the 2025 César Awards and selected for the latest Cannes Film Festival, L’ENGLOUTIE is an “intelligent film […] contrasting loneliness and village solidarity, the dazzling light of the snow and the darkness of night-time avalanches, pagan mysticism and peasant pragmatism.” – France Culture.
