The Ouest Group at the heart of the European Writers' Club's 2025 programme, ‘Bridging Generations’
Published
In 2025, Le Groupe Ouest is proud to have supported 16 series screenwriters from across Europe as part of Bridging Generations, a programme led by the European Writers Club.
Funded by the European Commission, this programme, to which Le Groupe Ouest has contributed since its inception, aims to encourage the creation of ambitious European series, developed through an international collaborative process by duos of writers from different generations.
After a first week of creative exploration at Le Groupe Ouest in Brittany, followed by a second week in June dedicated to project development in Sweden, a third workshop week in Madrid allowed the screenwriters to test their proposals with broadcasters and distributors from all over Europe.
The programme benefited from the collaboration of Linda Green (Leading Creative Talent), the insightful audience analyses carried out by Niels Alberg (Publikum), and the transmedia perspective of Kurt McKlung and Marie-Sophie Gandy. Participants were able to deepen their concepts thanks to a team of consultants “made in Le Groupe Ouest” (Laura Piani, Donna Sharpe, Nicolas Peufaillit and Tony Grisoni), coordinated by Mehdi Ouahab.
A final presentation of the projects will take place in Turin on 20 November, before the series spread their wings.
Bridging Generations is the third pilot programme of the ambitious European Writers Club project, launched by Thomas Gammeltoft, with whom Le Groupe Ouest has been collaborating for three years as a methodological pillar for project development.
