Attentive to new generations of writers and drawing on several years of research conducted within the Fabrique des Mondes, Le Groupe Ouest is launching new initiatives for series and fiction in all its forms.
De nouveaux outils pour la Writers’ Room
De nouveaux outils pour la Writers’ Room
[Series]
A two-part workshop consisting of two 5-day sessions, built around a distinctive Writers’ Room methodology that combines the spatialization of ideas, visual thinking tools such as sensory mapping, and interactive, collaborative practices. This workshop will enable project holders to test and challenge their series concept, while giving all participants the opportunity to learn and apply new tools dedicated to creativity and collective work.
To create rich and diverse writers’ rooms, the call for applications is open to both emerging and experienced screenwriters, as well as fiction writer-directors (live-action and animation).
Workshop dates:
25–28 August & 16–20 November 2026
In response to the growing rise of short-form series on the web and social media, and to the opportunities offered by their relatively accessible production models, Le Groupe Ouest has decided to dedicate a workshop to this format. The workshop aims to rethink the creative possibilities and narrative ambitions of the genre in light of the specific rhythms of short-form storytelling, adapt dramaturgical and emotional structures to contemporary audience practices, and explore innovative creative forms shaped by the constraints of the format.
The call for applications is open to all creators of fiction content for the web, as well as to emerging and experienced series screenwriters and fiction writer-directors (live-action and animation) developing a short-form series project.
This programme invites writers and creators from a wide range of artistic backgrounds to explore and test one or several initial ideas before embarking on the long-term development of a fiction project, regardless of its format or medium. Over five days, participants will discover the latest generation of creative tools developed by Le Groupe Ouest to support the creation of fictional worlds.
The call for applications is open to fiction creators and writers from all fields, including film, television, animation, web content, as well as VR, graphic novels, literature, video games, and more.
