Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness

After the huge success of his first feature film, “A Respectable Family”, selected at Cannes, this is the second film that the Iranian Massoud Bakhshi came to develop in 2015 at le Groupe Ouest: “Yalda, the night of forgiveness”, Grand Prix at Sundance. The film was backed by the Breizh Film Fund, the endowment fund created by Le Groupe Ouest. A powerful film, with rare intensity, a huge victory!

Synposis

In Iran today: Maryam (22) accidentally kills her husband Nasser (65) and is sentenced to death. The only person who can save her is Mona, Nasser’s daughter. All Mona has to do is appear on a popular live TV show and forgive Maryam. But forgiveness proves difficult when they are forced to relive the past.
