Time out

Ève Duchemin

The French Ève Duchemin (nationalized Belgian), fascinated by detainees’ return to society, first came to Le Groupe Ouest in 2017 to take part in the Boost Camp programme. It was just the beginning. She returned the following year, taking part in the Annual Selection. She shot “Temps Mort” (formerly “La Vie Mécanique”), her first feature film, in Belgium, in 2021, after winning the Magritte for Best Documentary in 2017 for “En bataille, portrait d’une directrice de prison”.

Synopsis

For the first time in a long time, three inmates are granted a weekend leave. 48 hours to settle down. 48 hours to reconnect with their loved ones. 48 hours to try to make up for lost time.
