Yacine Badday

Yacine Badday writes for both cinema and television. He has co-written three films with director Chloé Mazlo, including the feature film Skies of Lebanon (Sous le ciel d’Alice)—part of the Critics’ Week selection at Cannes 2020—which received an award from the French Union of Film Critics. He is also the co-writer of Summer Scars (L’Été l’éternité) by Émilie Aussel (Special Jury Prize “Filmmakers of the Present” at the Locarno Festival 2021), Acid (Acide) by Just Philippot (Cannes Film Festival 2023 – Out-of-Competition), and Little Jaffna by Lawrence Valin, which was presented as the closing film of Critics’ Week in Venice 2024.

In television fiction, he co-created, with Jean-Baptiste Sépari, the fantasy series project The Miracle (Le Miracle)—recipient of the Lagardère TV Scriptwriter Grant—and worked as a consultant on season 1 of The Mopes by Ipek Zübert (Warner TV Germany/HBO Max).

In the 1950s, young Alice leaves Switzerland for Lebanon, a sun-soaked and exuberant land. There, she falls head over heels for Joseph, a mischievous astrophysicist who dreams of sending the first Lebanese person into space. Alice rapidly finds her place within his family.
