Théo Jourdain

Théo Jourdain is a writer, director and producer. He is seen in every family photo since the age of twelve with a camera in his hand.

He studied cinema in secondary school near his hometown in Brittany, France. He made his directing debut with his short film FINISTERE which won the Paris Urban Film Festival prize in 2013. Since then, Théo has directed & produced music videos, commercials and documentaries all over the world with artists such as Lomepal, JR, Ladj Ly… In 2019 he directed a short film called SON OF THE FOAM, shot almost entirely on an offshore fishing boat in Brittany. In 2021 Théo co-directed season 1 of the first French musical TV Show REUSSS for France TV Slash, which won awards at Série Mania 2022. Théo Jourdain is based in Paris and is now writing and developing his first feature film THE LAST FISHERMAN.

Thomas, marin-pêcheur au Guilvinec, est tombé dans toutes les addictions possibles. Épuisé et détruit par la perte de la garde de son enfant, il décide de se sevrer en mer et de repartir à zéro. Mais une fois au large, la pêche ne se passe pas comme prévu. L’absence totale de poissons dans les filets du Mab an Tarz, va faire partir Thomas et l’équipage à la dérive…

The Last Fisherman

Thomas (35) is living in the second largest fishing port in France. like many others, he has gone bankrupt in the fishing crisis. In order to survive, the community is now involved with illegal drug trafficking between France and england, but Thomas doesn’t want to be part of it. Not for moral reasons, but because his mother Marcelle (70), runs the trafficking ring. Cécile (35) a childhood love of Thomas, comes back into town with an order from the region to repurpose the fishing port for touristic projects. A passionate love story starts quickly between them. Cécile is newly sober in a twelve-step program. She trades in her alcohol addiction for an addiction to Thomas. Thomas holds onto her as his only hope for positive change. Thomas wants to transform his father’s fishing boat into a touristic attraction. For that, he needs money, and the only way to make money in the port is to work for his mom… But between his menacing mother, his newly sober partner, and the weight of his community, Thomas’s plan will be hard to navigate…
