Carine Zimmerlin

Carine Zimmerlin is a sound engineer based in Belgium and a 2001 graduate of INSAS – Sound Department.
She co-wrote Bernard Bellefroid’s first feature film, Melody, developed as part of Le Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection in 2021 and released in theaters in 2015.

To afford the hair salon she dreams of, young Melody, born anonymously, agrees to carry the embryo of Emily, a senior executive recovering from uterine cancer. From this arrangement emerges a complex relationship—alternately friendly and maternal, supportive and conflicted—in which the life force connecting the two women makes each, in their own way, a maternal figure to the other.
