Frederike Migom

Frederike Migom is a director and screenwriter based in Brussels, educated in Paris and New York. Her feature debut BINTI (2019) had its North-American premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2020, screening at more than 65 festivals, winning 10+ awards. Prior to BINTI, Frederike’s short film NKOSI COIFFURE (2015) screened at Tribeca Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, among many others.

In 2020, Frederike co-wrote and directed an episode for the Belgian mini-series LOCKDOWN, selected at Cannesseries ’21, as well as the short documentary ANGRY. In 2023 Frederike co- directed four episodes of the series ALTER EGO, with Mathieu Mortelmans.
Currently, Frederike is prepping her second feature SORRY, an adaptation of the successful novel by Bart Moeyaert, EVERYONE’S SORRY NOWADAYS.

Determined to defy societal norms, Mina (38) works as a plumber, leads a community of women in construction and forms a throuple relationship with Ana (34) and Lou (36). Their world is turned upside down when Mina’s sister unexpectedly leaves her two children in Mina’s care. Initially, a non-conformist community family comes to exist. But when support from Lou, Ana and their friends diminishes, Mina finds herself becoming the mother she so defied: Lonely, exhausted, insecure yet gifted with unconditional love.
