Yves Ulmann
Yves Ulmann was born and raised in Paris. After studying Literature and attending a business school, and a stint in advertising, he began exploring screenwriting by reading extensively—first for the producer, Philippe Carcassonne, then for the president of the Advance sur Recettes Commission.
His learning deepened through collaboration with Claude Sautet, working alongside Jacques Fieschi on the screenplays for Sautet’s final two films, Un cœur en hiver et Nelly & M. Arnaud. He has since contributed as co-writer or script consultant on screenplays with directors such as Florent-Emilio Siri, Laetitia Masson, Brigitte Rouan, Diane Kurys, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, Jérôme Bonnell, and Serge Bromberg.
In parallel with his screenwriting work, he practices brief systemic and strategic therapy in the tradition of the Palo Alto school.
