Jonathan Millet
Jonathan Millet grew up in the Alps. After studying philosophy, he spent many years filming remote regions of the world for image banks. Alone with his camera, he traveled through and filmed around fifty countries (Iran, Sudan, Pakistan, all of South America, the Middle East, and extensively across Africa).
He then directed several short fiction films, including Et Toujours Nous Marcherons (selected for the 2018 César Awards) and La Veillée, a medium-length film released in 2018.
In parallel, he explored themes of territory and solitude through documentary work, including Ceuta, douce prison (released in theaters in 2014), Dernières Nouvelles des Étoiles (shot in Antarctica, 2017), and La Disparition (shot in the Amazon, 2021).
Jonathan was a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the SRF (Society of Film Directors), short film delegate, and co-president of the ROC (Coalition of Short Film Organizations). He also served as a script reader for the CNC’s short film production support fund.
In 2021, Jonathan developed his first fiction feature film, Les Fantômes, selected for the Groupe Ouest Annual Selection. Co-written with Florence Rochat, Les Fantômes was awarded the Grand Prize at the 35th Prix du Scénario (formerly Prix Sopadin). At the same time, Jonathan is preparing for his next documentary shoot in Central Asia.
