Irène Camargo de Staal

Irène CAMARGO de STAAL is a screenwriter for film and television who began her career as an assistant director in cinema.

After growing up in Rio de Janeiro and living in Paris and Rome, she settled in Marseille — the city she now calls home — where she has lived for the past twenty years.

Alongside her writing work, Irène leads screenwriting workshops and regularly collaborates with institutions such as La CinéFabrique, Mille Sabords, and the European City of Screenwriters (Cité Européenne des Scénaristes). She has also worked as a consultant for AMAZON Studios (series and TV movies).

She is currently developing two original series: CLAIREBNB (comedy, 10×30′), in development with AGAT FILMS, and FANTÔMAS (thriller, 8×52′), co-created with Thibault VANHULLE (SND Fictions & WY Productions) for CANAL+.
