Gaëlle Douël

After studying at the Institute of Political Studies in Toulouse and obtaining a postgraduate degree (DESS) in documentary filmmaking, Gaëlle settled in 2005 in Mellionnec, a small village in central Brittany. Convinced that this environment would foster creativity, she founded Ty Films with Jean-Jacques Rault. Dedicated to documentary cinema the company quickly expanded organizing a festival, training writers, developing a school film project.

After writing and directing several films broadcast on television or screened at festivals, she turned to fiction. Twice laureate of the Groupe Ouest Annual Selection (2010 and 2016), Gaëlle is passionate about storytelling.

Deeply rooted in rural and agricultural life, she now explores the intricacies of screenwriting as both a writer and consultant. Her feature film La Peau du taureau, which received development support from the CNC, is currently in progress.
