Eva Zabezsinszkij
Éva Zabezsinszkij is a Hungarian screenwriter, story editor, script consultant and casting director with over seventeen years of experience in film and theatre. She studied screenwriting at the Hungarian University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE), following earlier degrees in Hungarian and Russian Studies at ELTE University. For 5 years she worked as a script consultant at the Hungarian National Film Fund, currently she works as a freelance professional.
Eva has been closely associated with some auteurs of contemporary Hungarian cinema. She worked on Son of Saul (2015) directed by László Nemes. Her collaboration with Nemes continued on Sunset (2018), as well as on Orphan (2025). She also worked as script consultant and casting director on Gentle (2022, Sundance Festival), directed by László Csuja and Anna Nemes. As a script consultant, she contributed to Natural Light directed by Dénes Nagy (2021, Silver Bear, Berlinale), and to The Story of My Wife (2018), directed by Ildikó Enyedi. Alongside her work in film, she gained extensive experience in theatre projects and collaborated long-term with Árpád Schilling and Kornél Mundruczó.
In her work, the central creative focus is always the personal core of the story and the in-depth development of complex, authentic characters.
