On Wednesday 12 November, Charlotte Devillers and Arnaud Duffey’s We believe you was released in French cinemas.
Charlotte Devillers and Arnaud Duffey took part in Groupe Ouest Développement’s 2023 Screenplay: Power & Soul workshop to finalise the development of ‘We believe you’.
This poignant and socially conscious film, which has already been recognised at several festivals (Best Film Award at the Marseille International Music & Cinema Festival, Sang Neuf Award and Sang Neuf Youth Jury Award from the Grand Est Region at the Reims Polar Film Festival, nomination at the 2025 Berlinale in the Perspective category, etc.), combines drama and social investigation. ‘We believe you’ brings us closer to the emotions of the victims.
The film, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, was produced by Makintosh Films and is distributed by Jour2fête.
WE BELIEVE YOU tells the story of Alice, a mother who is fighting to retain custody of her children from their abusive father. This powerful film, which has been praised by the press, highlights the strength and necessity of speaking out about incest.
