This Wednesday, April 30th, LITTLE JAFFNA by Lawrence Vallin was released in French cinemas — a film we had been eagerly awaiting!

Filmmaker Lawrence Vallin was one of the key figures of Le Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection in 2018 for the development of LITTLE JAFFNA.

This radiant, multi-award-winning film (recently awarded the Jury Prize and Audience Award at the Reims Polar Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Red Sea Film Festival, among others) is a hybrid between thriller and Kollywood*, blending vibrant fiction with documentary depth.

Lawrence’s debut feature takes place at the heart of a vibrant Tamil community, where Michael, a young police officer of Tamil origin, is assigned to infiltrate a criminal group known for extortion and money laundering in support of separatist rebels in Sri Lanka. But as he delves deeper into the organization, his loyalty is put to the test.

Enjoy the screening!

*Tamil cinema, often nicknamed Kollywood, refers to the regional Indian film industry producing films in the Tamil language.
