Filmmaker Alanté Kavaïté took part in Le Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection in 2016 for the development of her new feature film “Submergée”. The film was shot in October-November 2023 with the support of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Charente-Maritime Department (France). For its development, it was funded by Creative Europe — Media and the French CNC. “Submergée” features Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Dali Bensallah, Daphné Patakia, Miou-Miou, Patrick Chesnais, Jean-Claude Drouot, Alexandra Stewart and with the participation of Féodor Atkine.
Synopsis
In the near future… On an island cut off from the world, Gaëlle, 30, takes care of a small group of elderly people. The arrival of a sailboat brings joy and life back to the island. Yet Gaëlle doubts the intentions of the travelers because the elders begin to die one after the other.
