Shana

Lila Pinell took part in the 2023 annual selection to work on the development of her feature film, Shana.

The film was shot in Île-de-France from May to July 2025.

Synopsis

Shana, in her early thirties, moves between odd jobs, small-time dealing, and an impossible love story with a toxic gangster, Moïse. To make matters worse, her Moroccan Jewish grandmother has just passed away, leaving her only a family ring with mysterious powers. This sets off a series of misadventures for the young heroine, through which she may finally learn to make peace with herself.

Her first fiction feature film, Shana, was awarded the 2025 La Fondation Gan pour le Cinéma.
