Electricity
LIM | Less is More 2017
A vacuum cleaner salesman knocks on the door of a single mother’s home whose son is in a state of minimal consciousness. His visit triggers a surprising discovery : the child possesses supernatural abilities. This revelation sets off a conspiracy involving a manipulative ex-colonel and his gang, who will stop at nothing to exploit the boy’s powers—opposed by a mysterious scarred girl and a band of clumsy rockers determined to protect him. Blending fairy tale and dark comedy, Electricity immerses us in a post-socialist world where happy endings are not always what they seem. The story unfolds in a drab, modern-day Sofia, but the film’s universe is steeped in magical realism. The action is confined to a single apartment building—a microcosm of contemporary Bulgarian society. This community of neighbors operates by its own rules, hierarchies, and power struggles, eerily mirroring the dynamics of the world outside.
