As borders are redrawn across the surface of the Earth, different stories emerge around them.

An astronaut is on a mission in space when a civil war breaks out dividing his homeland into several new nations. Having lost everyone he loved, he decides to isolate himself in eternal orbit with the animals he studies. Meanwhile, back on Earth, the new nations fight over the question of which one he now belongs to.

Two young neighbors begin a secret romance from the rooftops of their respective apartment buildings. Separated by a massive wall and conflicting governments, they send each other messages via carrier pigeons. Their relationship endures over the years, even as they each go on to start their own families. But the constant threat of discovery looms over them.

A zoologist finds herself trapped between two borders on a glacier while tracking a rare tiger. Forced to set up camp as neither side’s border guards will let her pass, she must wait. Though long-standing enemies, tensions between the guards slowly ease as they become involved in the zoologist’s mission.

A woman returns from the dead after overcoming a series of trials. She carries a vital message for the living—but has no passport. Her extraordinary case presents a challenge to the immigration authorities, who must decide her fate.
