Mohamad Yassine
Mohamad Yassine is a Lebanese director & screenwriter based in Beirut.
He wrote and directed four short films, “exitbag” (2016) which premiered at the French cultural center in Beirut, “Sahar” (2017) which was selected as part of Maskoon Film Festival, Crave (2019) for Gandour and most recently, “Meet the Artist” (2024) for Art Basil Paris.
Mohamad has also co-created and co-written “Dream Plaza”, a TV series with artist and filmmaker Mohamad Abdouni, produced by Arte France, La Onda Productions (France) and Abbout Productions (Lebanon) which will go into production in Spring 2026. He’s also co-writing “Running with Beats”, a feature film with writer & director Leila Basma, produced by Other Stories (Czech Republic) and Spotless Mind Films (Beirut).
He is currently developing his first feature film, a Lebanese-French co-production, Zeinab.
Zeinab

Zeinab, 17, a devout Muslim, is bullied and othered at her Catholic school, especially after she starts wearing a hijab. On a class trip to Saint Rafqa’s monastery, Zeinab experiences a biblical apparition at the saint’s burial site and begins to exhibit symptoms of stigmata, as they happened to Saint Rafqa before her, leaving her in a crisis of faith.
As her family tries to find medical and spiritual explanations, Zeinab gains the respect and approval of her peers and nun superiors, who become convinced she is a chosen saint. Soon, she begins to believe it too.
But her escalating deterioration jeopardises her promising academic future, threatens to tear her family apart and puts her devotion to islam to the ultimate test. Yet Zeinab clings to the only time she’s ever felt seen.
