Martynas Norvaišas

After gaining Cinematography (BA) degree in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (2014) Martynas Norvaišas began his career as a DOP in film and commercials. After finishing MA in Photography and Media Art in Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts, he started individual creative practice with the primary focus on the changing concept of masculinity. He has published limited edition photo album “Men’s Department” and is currently working on photo series “Fathers”. His debut short documentary “I Buy” explores consumerism in the light of existentialism. Martynas also takes a role of video artist in colaborations in theatre and contemporary art fields.

The Room

LIM² 2026

The project in development is based on Mykolas Sauka’s novel The Room with a clear link to what is considered to be one of the worst movies in film history. The script is to explore culturally inherited predefined forms of human interaction and their relationship to modern society.
