Marine Blin

I completed my training at La Poudrière in Valence after obtaining a DMA in animated cinema at ESAAT in Roubaix and specializing in 2D animation at EMCA in Angoulême. During my studies, I made several films, including Our Hands Will Remember and The Imprint and went on to direct Quartier Libre, a commissioned short film for the En Sortant de l’École, Season 1 collection, adapted from Jacques Prévert (Tant Mieux Prod / France Télévisions).

From 2015, I was part of the Hellemmois studio Train Train, where I worked on various short films such as (Fool Time) JOB, The Ogre, and Birdy Wouaf Wouaf… I also teach in schools and continue working with Tant Mieux Prod and France Télévisions on seasons 4, 5, and 7 of En Sortant de l’École, this time guiding young directors through all stages of producing their first professional short films.

My first short film, What Resonates in the Silence, produced by Papy 3D Productions, was released in 2020. In 2022, I developed the feature-length adaptation of The Bear and the Hermit, co-written with Delphine Maury, a project supported by the Groupe Ouest Annual Selection. I am working on the script for a new short film.

Early spring in the forest. Bear wakes up from his hibernation and goes to join his adoptive mother the Fox. But she makes it clear that he must learn to fend for himself, like a BEAR. But that’s the specialty of the Hermit, a mysterious little man who has been living in the heart of the forest for a long time! From this unlikely meeting between a happy overexcited Bear keen to learn, and a highly-strung, knowledgeable Hermit, will blossom the most beautiful lessons in self-reliance. The forest animals don’t take kindly to this situation. A bear and a hermit together is not natural! The closer they get, the more desperate the Fox is to make her child understand that he’s made the wrong choice. The seasons pass. And a loving friendship develops between the clumsy bear and this hermit with a wonderful secret. Just when we strongly desire to learn to live alone we discover, in fact, how much we want to live together.
