Guillaume Kozakiewiez
Guillaume Kozakiewiez, born in 1979, grew up in eastern France. His studies brought him to Brittany. A photography enthusiast, he taught himself editing and cinematography before ultimately turning to documentary filmmaking. A director, traveler, curious spirit, and somewhat a loner, Guillaume made the lightweight video camera his favorite tool to tell life stories across various continents. The portrait is clearly his preferred form, inspiring several feature-length documentaries. The act of creation is a recurring theme in his films, featuring subjects like a tightrope walker, a fiction filmmaker on France Culture, and musicians in Boston.
Today, fiction plays a growing role in his work, though the portrait form remains central to the stories he tells. He is also a director of photography for documentary filmmakers and occasionally for short films.
