Evi Cats
Evi Cats (1994) lives and works in Brussels, where she graduated at RITCS School of Arts with a master degree in film direction. Her documentary Walls That Scream, which traces signs of police violence in her own neighborhood, premiered at IDFA 2022 and was soon after awarded a VAF Wildcard. Her more fictional short, Waiting for a Sun Storm, won the award for Best Belgian Student Short at Film Fest Gent. Since 2022, Cats has regularly collaborates with choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and her dance company Rosas. She filmed and directed Forêt at the Musée du Louvre, which has been screened at dance film festivals worldwide. She is currently finishing a short film, set within the white walls of a social language school in Brussels.

In a port city on the most eastern edge of Europe, two women share a special bond. Before they even confess their love for each other, one of them leaves for the other side of the continent, while the other stays behind. As this departure takes place, all movement around the port continues: goods arrive, people move, and Europe totters.
