GIFT FROM GOD is a psychological drama centered on 14-year-old Shaw, whose quest for self-discovery ends up destroying her “happy” family.
After years of traveling through Eastern Europe with her bohemian parents, the family settles in an isolated farmhouse at the foot of the Carpathian mountains. Here, Shaw meets Sorin, a local boy, and finds comfort in his normal family life. Researching on her computer, using her real name, Seána, she discovers that her biological family in Scotland believe her to be dead. Upset, she begins to question and provoke her parents about the past, and makes anonymous contact with her Scottish uncle via social networks. When her father returns from a transhumance, Shaw sheepishly confesses that she has reconnected with her uncle. The family leaves the mountains to escape the inevitable.
