MAMI WATA de C.J. Obasi a été présenté en avant-première au Sundance Film Festival en janvier 2023, en compétition officielle (World Cinema Dramatic Competition). Il y a remporté le Prix spécial du Jury — « Cinematography » (pour Lílis Soares).
MAMI WATA est le premier film d’un réalisateur Nigérian à être présenté à Sundance. Félicitations C.J., nous sommes très heureux pour toi et toute l’équipe du film, quelle consécration !
C.J a participé à LIM | Less is More pour le développement de ce long-métrage en 2019, dans le cadre du partenariat du Groupe Ouest avec le Ouaga Film Lab.
