Oscars 2017: “Les Innocentes” in the short list

France preselected 4 features for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film

The committee in charge of selecting the film representing France at the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film met on 13 September 2016 to establish the finalists’ first list. Among the four films preselected is Les Innocentes, by Anne Fontaine, written by Sabrina B. Karine and Alice Vial, coached in 2011 within the framework of the Groupe Ouest ‘s Yearly Selection for the writing of this first feature film.

The other films preselected are:
– Elle by Paul Verhoeven
– Cézanne et moi by Danièle Thompson
– Frantz by François Ozon

The final decision will be communicated on 26 September.
