Applications open for the online programme | Deadline extended:
Filmmakers working with visual effects and Stereo 3D are invited to apply for the Cross Channel Film Lab Training online programme. Writers, directors, producers, VFX and animation professionals, editors and other crew and technicians will have the chance to experience online seminars and masterclasses, and engage in live web chat with VFX, Stereo 3D and screenwriting specialists. While most applicants are expected to be from Europe, some places will be available to filmmakers from outside the EU.
The programme focuses on how VFX and Stereo 3D technologies can be utilised in the development of low to medium budget feature films to enhance storytelling and reach new audiences. Taking place over successive evenings during two weeks in September (12 -16) and December (5 – 9) 2016, the online programme is managed by Le Groupe Ouest in partnership with Creative England and Falmouth University. It is supported by Creative Europe.
The online programme will run alongside CCFL Training’s core programme for filmmakers with early stage feature film projects and will also allow the core programme participants to revisit sessions recorded during a week-long workshop held at Falmouth University earlier in June. Sessions will include François Garnier’s Introduction to Stereo 3D, script consultant Antoine Le Bos on Screenwriting for Stereo 3D, and VFX case studies from VFX experts Tommi Lehtonen and Peter Rogers. Additionally, participants will have access to a selection of the CCFL’s archive material, which includes recorded events with experts such as stereographer Joséphine Derobe, VFX supervisor Paddy Eason and filmmaker Marc Caro.
